Despite starting the game well on Sunday in Linz, Sapa Fehérvár AV19 wasn't able to achieve a bravura win against the Black Wings who finally won 4-0.
- Early in the game we played according to our game plan but it soon became obvious that last night Linz was the sharper, faster, more aggressive and more punctual team. They won most of the one on one duels, and these small differences quickly turned the game into their favor. These differences were also obvious in the scoring efficiency, while we hit the post twice, Linz was able to score in their big chances, and Westlund also had a terrific night. The Black Wings were also able to keep up this performance until the end of the game so their victory was never in doubt.
Yet we only received one powerplay goal which could be considered a good result against the team with th ebest powerplay efficiency - summarized Sapa Fehérvár AV19's assistant coach Lajos Énekes.
On Tuesday the Hungarian champions will face HK Acroni Jesenice on home ice but they have no false hopes that it will be an easy game.
- It is already certain that Jesenice will not make the play-offs so they can play without any pressure. Playing with no stress already had its effect on their recent games when they stole point/points from very strong teams. They are fighting strongly until the end of the regular season.
This season we played several good games against them but we are certain that they can make our job very difficulty if we don't give one hundred percent tomorrow evening on home ice. We must stay disciplined and keep the emphasis on our defensive work. If we are efficient in those two respects, then we will be able to score goals unlike in Linz on Sunday - said Lajos Énekes.
According to the assistant coach some line-up changes are possible but most likely Zoltán Hetényi will remain in front of Sapa Fehérvár AV19's net.
