Alex Westlund has not conceded a goal versus SAPA Fehervar AV 19 for the second time this season. He faced a meagre 22 shots in the process, too, while Zoltan Hetenyi was pelted with 49 shots, saving 45 for his team. It took Linz until the 18 Minutes to capitalize on one of their 24 first period chances. Pat Leahy buried a shot at the near post. The momentum didn’t change throughout the game. Chris Ibounig doubled the lead after 25 minutes and Rich Bronilla tallied on the Powerplay six minutes later. Jarmo Tolvanen took a time-out to reinstill confidence in his players. It seemed to work out, too: Juha Alen and Istvan Sofron both hit the post and Arpad Mihaly as well as Janos Vas were denied by Westlund. Matt Iberer scored his fourth of the season and the fourth off the night, leaving Linz hoping to meet up with the Hungarian Champions in the Play-Offs –in this form.
