When SAPA Fehervar AV19 were told the news that Defender Rastislav Ondrejciks’ season was effectively over after his knee injury, the club tried to find a replacement within their own ranks. Now that the Play-Offs are a very likely possibility, the Devils’ management acquired the services of Swedish Defender Andersson.

 

23 years old Andersson used to play for Brynäs and Djurgården in Swedish Eliteserien, totalling 113 top-flight-games in Sweden. He started the season at the Eastern Stockholm outfit but was transferred to Leksand. He played 22 Games for the Allsvenskan side this season, racking up four assists. Andersson is 6’2” and has been described as a player with quick hands, a good eye and a solid defensive approach, who can help out on the offense, even though he has not scored a lot of goals in his career. Like Toronto Maple Leafs and Swedens Olympic Teams Goalie Jonas Gustavsson, Andersson hails from Danderyd, just north of Stockholm.

He will arrive in Hungary on Tuesday and will play his first game with his new team on Friday.
